Utah Jazz and Awardco “Recognize the Good” Recipients 2023-24
The Utah Jazz and Awardco Recognize Community Heroes
The Utah Jazz organization is known for its values of being “all-in”, “community obsessed”, and “one team”. These values extend beyond the basketball court and into the community, where every fan is considered a team member. In partnership with local business Awardco, the Utah Jazz recently recognized five individuals who have gone above and beyond in their communities.
During a home game at the Delta Center, these community heroes were surprised by members of the Utah Jazz and honored on the video board. They were also gifted with Jazz apparel as a token of appreciation for their outstanding contributions.
Among the recipients is Jessica Moran, a teacher in the Davis School District who has developed a free program to support youth struggling with mental health concerns. Lisa Feist, the founder of Dollies 4 Doctors, provides handmade dolls to children in hospitals to bring comfort during treatment. Matt Bowen, the founder of the Utah Chapter of Wheelchair Lacrosse, has created opportunities for wheelchair users to participate in sports and build community. Katie Jensen, co-founder of the English Language Center, offers classes and support to refugees and immigrants. Feli Ika, the Polynesian Club advisor at Lone Peak High School, empowers students to embrace their heritage and potential as future leaders.
These individuals exemplify the values of the Utah Jazz organization and serve as inspirations in their communities. Their dedication to making a positive impact is truly commendable, and the Utah Jazz and Awardco are proud to recognize their efforts through the “Recognize the Good” program.
